Holy Name wanted to ensure that its future communications and document capabilities would be state of the art and reliable enough to keep up with the fast-paced environment in which it would need to perform. Holy Name also wanted to implement a system that could enhance services to its physicians and other organizations that it worked with on a daily basis. It began considering ECM - an enterprise content management system.
After analyzing Holy Name’s current business processes and legacy systems, Mike Skvarenina, Holy Name’s Director of Information Systems, decided that the best solution would be to replace the functionality it already had with IBM’s integrated fax adapter. After meeting with Cornerstone Communications, he concluded that Unifier – Cornerstone’s enterprise content management (ECM) solution – would be a perfect fit. “When moving to an 8XX box, we chose to use Unifier instead of migrating to an internal 8XX solution. Not only was it less expensive, it also offered the reliability we needed as well as a knowledgeable, professional support team,” Skvarenina said.
After working with Cornerstone Communication’s technical experts to determine the most effective way to implement Cornerstone's enterprise document management system with the hospital’s legacy systems, Holy Name put the application to work in fall of 2000. “The technical support we received during installation and afterward was excellent. To this day, whenever we call with a question, the voice on the other end of the phone is both affable and proficient,” Skvarenina stated.
“Since we installed Unifier over two years ago, we have used it to send between 500 and 1,500 documents per day to our physicians and other entities. We don’t do anything to it or even monitor it much. It just works,” said Skvarenina. “I would recommend this product and the services of Cornerstone Communications to anyone interested in improving their legacy business processes, while at the same time reducing costs.”
